Inactive Entity Value Aggregate to Parent if Sibling has NODATA (Doc ID 1515002.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2021

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version 9.2.0.0.00 to 11.1.2.2.302 [Release 9.2 to 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) application a scenario is configured with the following settings:

Running a consolidation in HFM 4.0.1 version would consolidate at parent level, even if there was no data in any active children, so the parent would get a hard consolidated zero at the entity currency level.

In any other release after that, if there is no data in any active entities for a specific period, then no consolidation occurs in that period, and the entity currency at the parent level will remain a derived value (derived based on the zeroview for the scenario), rather than a consolidated value. If there is a value in 'Active' sibling entity then it shows the consolidated value.

Changes

Case 1:

Sunnyvale is Inactive in the month of August. When there is no data in FosterCity UnitedStates shows the value of 225 that includes value 200 which was derived from prior month and it is not consolidated value.

Case 2:

When FosterCity (Active Entity) has a value then the Parent value shows consolidated value.
