Symptoms

You have enabled SSL for the Active Directory Authenticator in Weblogic and imported the LDAP server certificate by following the instructions listed in <NOTE:1326641.1>"  OBIEE11g - SSL LDAP/ADSI Authentication Setup and Configuration.

All the configuation steps are completed successfully and you are able to bring back the Weblogic server and Managed Server is back up and running. However, when trying to bring the OBIEE services back up, you are not able to bring coreapplication_obis1 and coreapplication_obips1 components back up and running. These two components fail to start and you will find errors similar to the following in bi_server1-diagnostic.log:

Caused by: oracle.ods.virtualization.service.VirtualizationException: oracle.ods.virtualization.engine.util.DirectoryException: LDAP Error 2 : <YOUR_LDAP_SERVER_NAME>.CORP.DOM:636

Where 636 is the SSL port number of the LDAP server.

However, if you set it back to use http, you are then able to start all services.
