Essbase on a Unix server, and we would like to be able to modify the default rights of files generated by Essbase processes. For example the text file generated by dataexport: by default these files have the permissions rw-r-----

In the previous version of Essbase, e.g., the umask behavior which controls the permissions of files could be changed by changing the umask property of the Unix account which own the Essbase processes  (ESSBASE and ESSSVR).

In the latest version, 11.1.2.x, this cannot be done as  Essbase processes are managed by OPMN.  The file ${ORACLE_EPM_INSTANCE}/bin/ contains the 'umask 027' setting, if modified,  Essbase does not recognize the change.
