OBIEE 11g: Error: 'javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'jdbcBIDatabaseGroupDS'' Groups are not Visible in Enterprise Manager with the BISQLGroupProvider Authentication Provider (Doc ID 1565209.1)

With users in an Active Directory LDAP, the BISQLGroupProvider authentication provider is configured to enable external group memberships held in a database table to contribute to an authenticated user's identity.

The following is visible in the WLS Console:

In EM > Business Intelligence > right-click on coreapplication > Security > Application Roles > edit a role to add a "database" group as a member ... see the "database" groups are not visible, and only the groups in the DefaultAuthenticator are visible.

The following error was observed in the AdminServer-diagnostic.log file:
