After upgrading OBIEE to 18.104.22.168 from 22.214.171.124.x, you are not able to add users to application roles in Enterprise Manager. Searching for the users with search string in Principal section, the user is not displayed.
Searching for the user with search string in Display Name section, returns the user without Principal name. When you try to add the user to any role, you see the following error:
