Last updated on NOVEMBER 06, 2019

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You have OBIEE 11g.  All your users can see all the subject areas, when logged into BI Publisher even though not all users have permission to see all subject areas.

When a user creates a data set in BI Publisher, all the subject areas or shared folders are visible.
When Oracle BI Analysis is selected, all the shared folders are visible, even if the user does not have the permissions to see them. But the reports in those folders are not visible.
When SQL Query is selected, all the subject are visible and the user can select any report, run it and see the results.  This despite the user not having permission to acces the Subject Area against which the report has been built.
