OBIEE 11g: Unable to Connect to OBIEE Using SmartView after Applying OBIEE 188.8.131.52.1 Patches

Prior to applying OBIEE 18.104.22.168.1 patches you were able to connect to OBIEE using SmartView. You did the following:
- Applied the OBIEE 22.214.171.124.1 patches
- Downloaded and installed the new SmartView (version 126.96.36.199.000) from the Analytics page -> Home -> Download BI Desktop Tools -> Smart View for MS Office.
- Trying to connect either using a Shared or Private connection returns the following error:
You applied the OBIEE 188.8.131.52.1 patches.
