Symptoms
When running Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g dashboards in a two-node, vertical cluster on an Exalytics server, there are intermittent ODBC errors.
If refresh is clicked, the errors go away.
In this environment, the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) database is installed on an Exadata server with two IPs defined.
The TNSNAMES.ORA entries list each IP with SDP protocol and LOAD_BALANCE (on). For example:
