OBIEE: AD users not able to see roles in My Account or not getting authorized when mapped individually to BI Role

Active Directory is configured as an authentication provider.
- When you map a user from AD to an OBI role, the user doesn't see the home page and receives an "insufficient privileges" error.
- When you map an AD group to the OBI role, members of this AD group can log in and are authorized to OBI resources.
Based on the symptoms above, a user is not authorized to OBI when mapped individually to a role; however; that same user is authorized when he/she is a member of a group mapped to a BI role.
