Using Discoverer 11g Viewer and a ACE Loadbalancer Causes Error 'The connection was reset' And 'The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading'

Intermittently, users get the following message while running Reports in Discover Viewer.

This is for both direct Discoverer connections and via E-Business Suite. The issue has been noticed in Discoverer Viewer only:

The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading

There are no corresponding messages in the OHS, Webcache or WLS Discoverer log files.

Discoverer Version
3 node clustered installation with 3 node RAC, and ACE LoadBalancer used
