OBIEE: How To Determine If A Feature Or Functionality Is Supported

Goal
From time to time, customers will find that a feature which has been working in a previous release of OBIEE no longer works after upgrading, or that a feature which works in one browser does not work in another.
An example could be the ability to right-click on a 'Link or image' link on a dashboard, and select to open this in a new tab or a new window from the drop-down list in the browser.
This is known to work in some browsers and some versions of OBIEE, but not in others.
Example:
Using IE 8/9 in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.x, right-click the report link and select option 'Open in new window' or 'Open in new tab' works.
However,using the same browser in OBIEE 11.1.1.7, the 'Open in new window'/'Open in new tab' options are greyed out.
