Symptoms

Fusion MiddleWare 11g WebLogic Server (WLS) is failing to start after a new LDAP Authenticator provider is configured in the domain Security Realm, or after some changes are made to an existing provider.

The WLS log file shows error "JPS-02592: Failed to push ldap config data to libOvd for service instance "idstore.ldap" in JPS context "default", cause: java.lang.Exception: Not able to find remote base java.lang.NullPointerException".

Steps to reproduce

1. Make changes to an LDAP Authenticator Provider in the WLS domain security realm.
2. Restart AdminServer: startup fails with JPS-02592 error.
