Discoverer 11g Server Is Using All Available Memory And Then Crashing (Doc ID 1609756.1)

Symptoms

Discoverer 11.1.1.3.0 stand-alone server crashes (i.e. server locks up).

Sudden 96%+ memory usage/ spike is an indicator or symptom of the issue.  The "Top" command does not reveal any Discoverer subsystem using this memory.
