Connection Pool MAX SET To 0 After 11.1.2.3 Installation (Doc ID 1610503.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 08, 2016

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version 11.1.2.3.100 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Running consolidations against HFM Applications throws dozens of these messages:

"There  were not enough connections in the SQL Connection Pool. The number of  connections is 8. The Thread ID is 2764. Please consider increasing the SQL   Connection Pool size."

Review of logs shows connection pool Max is 0:

"The maximum number of  database connections used is: 0. The initial connection pool Size is: 8. The  database is: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.. Multi-server  is ON".

Prior versions allowed us to set connection pool max under Advanced tabs in EPM configurator but this is no longer available.

EPM registry report shows we no longer have an entry for "dbNumMaxConnections" under HFM database connection.
