- Although EPM (Hyperion) Foundation Services is running, HsvEventLog is showing problems connecting to HSS registry database and the HFM application cannot start up.
Errors with these attributes can be seen in the HsvEventLog:
- A "tnsping" (test of the Oracle database communication) on the HFM application server was giving the following error :
TNS-12535: TNS:operation timed out
It seems as though the HFM server cannot reach the Oracle database even though the servers are adjacent on the same subnet of the customer network.
Customer had turned on the Microsoft Windows Firewall on the server housing their Oracle database (RDBMS).
