Symptoms
Special characters in Oracle Business Intelligence Maps 11.1.1.7.0 (integrated with MapViewer) are not recognized through Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. This applies to special characters like umlaut, DIAKRITIC, or special accent - in example ñ
Simple table display data correctly, this only affects maps.
In the following example, Lacoruña province is not recognized because special character ñ
It works on other browser, like Firefox.
