Essbase Studio Error - "CPL - Network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again."

Information in this document applies to any platform.
After applying patch one of the steps is to run reinit command from CPL prompt. When executing reinit, the command never completes even after 30 minutes.
It displays the following error message:
Connection to server lost. Trying to reconnect... Failed!
CPL - Network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again.
SYS - java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
CPL - Connection has been closed and cannot be used for further requests. Restart Essbase Studio
Console and try again.
