An EAL Batch file is Unable to Start the Data Update Agent (Doc ID 1622364.1)

Symptoms

Using a Batch file to rotate the EAL logs once it reaches certain size but experiencing an intermittent issue where the Data update agent is not Active even after the successful execution of the batch.

Batch performs the following.

1. Stop Data update agent for all bridges.
2. Stop EAL and DSS services.
3. Kills livelink process if any.
4. Start EAL DSS services.
5. Start DAta update agent.


After successful run of batch execution, EAL bridge summary tab shows all elements are Active except Data Update Agent.

 

The following errors may be seen in the EAL log:

"[2014-Jan-16 04:37:32] Failed to start update agent on startup-7005) Connection Handle Allocation Error: idmapper: can't find port for “api" server of HyperRoll (server is probably down)".

“[2014-Jan-17 02:17:31] Failed to start update agent on startup-6937) HyperRoll not found on "mstnbla8941311:5204"
