Hyperion Shared Services External User Directory Configuration Returns Error: "ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor" (Doc ID 1629671.1)

Symptoms

Product: Foundation/Shared Services 11.1.2.3
Issue:    Unable to configure database authentication in Shared Services using Oracle RAC with the following error encountered

 

When configuring Hyperion Shared Services external user directory for database authentication the following message is displayed:

EPMCSS-05255: Failed to create/edit user directory configuration.Verify user directory status and configuration.

 

In the "SharedServices_Security.log" the followiing error message is seen:
