Symptoms

You are installing OBIEE 11g:
At the configuration stage, you get the following error:

opmnctl task failed
Configuration Action executing: opmnctl start coreapplication_obisch1 has failed. please check the log file.

If you check in the install log file, you see the following error:

OracleBISchedulerComponent] [ERROR:1] [] [] [ecid: ] [tid: 88c98700] [68008] Scheduler Error: [nQSError: 46131] Unresolved host name: backup. Could not get details about the specified host
