The ManageUserPov Utility Does Not Function Correctly When The Administrator User's Password Contains A '@' Character (Doc ID 1637523.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 28, 2023

Applies to:

Hyperion BI+ - Version 11.1.2.1.107 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You're attempting to use Financial Reporting's ManageUserPov utility to delete user POVs.  When the administrator's username and password is supplied in the ManageUserPov.properties, the utility fails.  No error is seen in the command window, but the expected output does not appear.  This occurs whether the password is provided in plaintext or encrypted.  The ManageUserPovLogging.log contains the error:

java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is:
       com.hyperion.reporting.util.HyperionReportException: ; nested exception is:
       javax.jcr.LoginException: javax.jcr.LoginException: System 9 Platform error: AUTHEN_CSSLoginFailed.

If the username and password are cleared from the properties file and instead provided at a command prompt, the utility runs correctly.
