Symptoms

After upgrading OBIEE from 10.1.3.4.2 to 11.1.1.7.131017, a column is getting left outer join with other fact columns.

When running a report with fields joined between them, the physical query  should just create the necessary joins as in 10g.
However in OBIEE 11g, the physical query is adding an extra join for two tables  that are not directly joined.

The behaviour is different in OBIEE 10g.
