OBIEE 11g: Unable To Use Variables In Analysis Header/Footer (Doc ID 1680206.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2019

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version to [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You are able to use presentation, session, repository variables within dashboard header/footer but the same is not working within an analysis header/footer.

1. Create an analysis with some column pulled in from the subject area.
2. In "Results" tab, click on Print options, and enable header and footer
3. Click Edit Header/Footer and in any of the boxes type @{system.currentTime}
4. Select "Display in browser when applicable" checkbox
5. Click ok twice and save the analysis
6. Go to catalog and execute/open the analysis

The header/footer now contain just the text "@{system.currentTime}" instead of the current system time. Repeat the same within a dashboard header/footer and you will see the actual system time is displayed. This is happening with all types of variables - Presentation/Session/Repository variables.

Current behaviour - Analysis header/footer is just displaying the text instead of fetching variable values.
Expected behaviour - Analysis header/footer should fetch the value of the variable and display it.
