You have installed OBIEE 184.108.40.206.x and are using Internet Explorer (IE) 8.x as browser.
In OBIEE, when you click on the Catalog link and select the Permissions option, it hangs and after that it does not display anything or it may display the following error:
'response' is null or not an object
