OBIEE 11G: Error: "Sax parser returned an exception. Message: Expected whitespace. Error Codes: UH6MBRBC" When Exporting a Narrative View to PDF (Doc ID 1907941.1)

When trying to export a report with narrative view to PDF, the following error appears:

Sax parser returned an exception. Message: Expected whitespace, Entity publicId: , Entity systemId: , Line number: 33, Column number: 21
Error Details
Error Codes: UH6MBRBC
Location: saw.subsystem.portal, saw.httpserver.processrequest, saw.rpc.server.responder, saw.rpc.server, saw.rpc.server.handleConnection, saw.rpc.server.dispatch, saw.threadpool.socketrpcserver, saw.threads

This issue can be reproduced at will using samplesales rpd using the steps below:

  1. Create an analysis with criteria Product: LOB
  2. Click on Edit Formula and change the Heading to 'Test'
  3. On Column Forumula Enter: 'Test'
  4. Click on Column Properties->Data Format and check the check box 'Override default Data format' and select any of the below formats:

    Plain Text (Dont break spaces)
    HTML,Hyper Text Link
    Hyper Text Link(Prepend http://)
    Mail to address
    Image URL,Custom Text

  5. Click Ok.
  6. Now click on Result->New View ->Narrative View(Contains HTML Markup:checked)
  7. Edit the Narrative view as below:

    Prefix: [b]Narrative:[[/b]
    Narrative: <center>@1[br/]</center>
    Postfix:[b]Export to pdf[/b]

  8. Click on Print this analysis ->Export to PDF


Note: Export to PDF fails when you use column properties->Data format->Override Default data format ->HTML,Hyper Text Link,Hyper Text Link(Prepend http://),Mail to address,Image URL,Custom Text).
It works fine with Plain Text and If you uncheck 'Contains HTML Markup' you will be able to download to PDF without any issues.
