OBIA 11g Localization Instructions For OBIA Are Invalid (Doc ID 1918035.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 31, 2017

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Applications Consumer - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In our project it is required we localize the language used to be Norwegian.

Referring to the following documentation:

Oracle® Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 11g Release 1 ( Part Number E37988-01

3 Localizing Oracle Business Intelligence Deployments

By following this it is not possible to localize BI deployments for the following reasons:

  1. Step Verify the Translation Table (W_LOCALIZED_STRING_G) and Corresponding Indexes -  DAC is mentioned. You should be aware that DAC is not present in this release! This issue can be resolved by checking ODI model where indexes are specified. After checking indexes must be created in OBAW.
  2. Step Importing Locale Seed Data Into The Translation Table (W_LOCALIZED_STRING_G) - folder ORACLE_HOME\biapps\seeddata is mentioned. This folder DOES NOT EXIST. it also mentions that dataimp utility must be used, which can only be used on 32-bit operating systems. Please advise how to run it on 64-bit system?
  3. Step 3.2 About Translating Presentation Services Strings - the folder ORACLE_HOME\biapps\catalog\res\web\l_\Captions is mentioned. This folder DOES NOT EXIST.

Actually seems that this instruction is for an OBIA version with Informatica and DAC. Please provide the correct instructions.
