Symptoms

OBI11g is ignoring negative values in Pie charts, as is documented in Note 1352848.1. However, it is in fact using the negative values to calculate percentages. This is inconsistent.
For example,

1. Log to OBIEE
2. Create Direct SQL analysis (New->Analysis->Create Direct Database Request) with simple query below:

- Connection pool Sample Relational Connection

select 'Apples' items, 20 amt from dual
union all
select 'Orages', 30 from dual
union all
select 'Bananas', -10 from dual

3. Go to results and add a Pie chart. Make sure that ITEMs is in the Pies and Slices section.
4. Validate the results. Here application shows:

Apples 50%
Oranges 75%

This calculations shows that the 100% (Total: 40) includes: 20+30-10. As shown below:

Total: 40  ---- 100%
Apples: 20  ---- 50%

Total: 40  ---- 100%
Oranges: 20  ---- 75%

If negative values are ignore from the chart shouldn't be on the calculation, so total should be: 20+30 = 50

Total: 50  ---- 100%
Apples: 20  ---- 40%

Total: 50  ---- 100%
Oranges: 30  ---- 60%
