OBIA 11g: Avoid Recreating Indexes During Every Incremental Load In BI Applications
(Doc ID 2019376.1)
Last updated on JULY 07, 2020
Applies to:
Business Intelligence Applications Consumer - Version 11.1.1.8.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The Indexes get recreated and dropped during every Incremental Load. This recreation and dropping of Indexes during every Incremental Load results in increase in the Load time especially in the scenario when there is a large data set.
In BI Applications version 11.1.1.7.1 and for Adaptor: SDE_ORA11510_Adaptor there is a backport patch created for PS1 users where Query indices are created in parallel instead of serial mode. This would help in reducing the overall index creation time which is Patch: 18141104 - BACKPORT PARALLEL INDEX SUPPORT FOR TABLE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE. (As per the document BI Applications 11.1.1.7.1 How to avoid Query Indexes from Getting Recreated During Every Incremental Load (Doc ID 1667492.1)). This solution as per the document above is the default feature in BI Applications version 11.1.1.8.1.
So, is there any process or approach to avoid recreating of indexes During Every Incremental Load in BI Applications version 11.1.1.8.1 onwards.
