Unable To Login Into OBIEE Analytics With External LDAP Users (Provider Type IPlanetAuthenticator)

IPlanet LDAP userid can log into both the WebLogic Console and Enterprise Manager-Fusion Middleware Control, but gets an "Unable to Sign In. An invalid User Name or Password was entered." error when attempting to log into OBIEE.
Using the OracleBI Diagnostics Helper determined that the first two tests (Test for OWSM and Tests for BI System User) completed successfully, but on the third test (Test authentication of user-supplied credentials) only the Testing container-only authentication was successful. The other two tests failed as follows:
Testing full BI authentication:
Credentials successfully passed container authentication, but full BI login failed : SecurityService::logAndCastExceptionSecurity web service caught an unexpected error (oracle.bi.security.SecurityWebServiceException)
Testing BI Web Service authentication:
Credentials successfully passed container authentication, but BI Web Service login failed : Failed to access the WSDL at: http://servername:port/bisecurity/service?WSDL. It failed with: Response: ‘404 Not Found’ for url: http://servername:port:port/bisecurity/service?WSDL’. (javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException)
