11g Discoverer Workbook Becomes Non Responsive & Hangs In Plus (Doc ID 2052090.1)

Symptoms

Upgraded Oracle Reports and Discoverer to 11.1.7 to support JRE 1.8. Now the depending on the user JRE version, the workbook display may become non-responsive.
In Discoverer Plus 11g, some input text fields can become unresponsive, so the field does not get focus when clicked.

JRE 1.7_70 works sometimes.

JRE 1.8_60 & JRE 1.8_45 Works sometimes also.

It is an intermittent issue with the different Java versions.
