OBIA 11g: Capturing Deleted Records of Source in Warehouse (Doc ID 2073242.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2021

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Applications Consumer - Version 11.1.1.7.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You have a scenario which deletes the job records at the source end, based on some valid scenarios. But, in your warehouse  it is not capturing the corresponding data, so this results in the mismatch of data like active headcount between the source and warehouse.

1. How can you capture these deleted records in source. You have found  the following documentation:

Oracle® Fusion Middleware Reference Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 11g Release 1 (11.1.1), 7 Customizing ETL Mappings for Oracle BI Applications 7.7 Marking Records as "Deleted"

But this is for Informatica with DAC.  You would like a similar kind of document with a workaround for ODI.

2. You have found <Note 1903342.1> How does the Soft Delete work with OBIA 11g which clearly mentions what needs to be done.

You would like some clarification on:
 a. Whether you can directly set the soft delete variables to YES and proceed with the scheduled incremental load or you  should do a full load.
 b. What changes need to be made and what impact it has on performance of load. Currently incremental load completes within 30 minutes.
 c. Whether this can be applicable to BI APPS 11.1.1.7.1
