OBIEE 11g: Message "Excel found unreadable content in '.....xlsx'" When Opening an Excel Sheet from within an Email Attachment

Using an Agent to attach an Excel file to an email. When the end user tries to open the email attachment the following message appears:

'Excel found unreadable content in '.....xlsx'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.'

If the user clicks 'Yes' the sheet opens but the rows of data are missing from the bottom of the sheet.

This issue occurs when using Excel 2010.
