Symptoms


Task Queued forever(Waiting state) in ODI Load Plan

Initialize task which is first task in Load Plan is in waiting state forever.

Common troubleshooting steps did not help as follows:

1. Checked the JVM in config.xml and it is as below

  
  -Xms1024m -Xmx2048m -Doracle.odi.coherence.wka1=<HOSTNAME2> -Dtangosol.coherence.localhost=<HOSTNAME2> -Doracle.odi.coherence.wka2=<HOSTNAME1> -Dtangosol.coherence.localport=<PORT> -Doracle.odi.coherence.wka1.port=<PORT> -Doracle.odi.coherence.wka2.port=<PORT> -Dserver.group=bia_odi
  

2. Increased the JVM in ide.conf file on ODI Studio

AddVMOption -Xms1024m
AddVMOption -Xmx2048m

3. Manually updated the SESS_STATUS in SNP_SESS for all the tasks which have 'Q' to 'E'.

4. Previously in BI DEV environment we also Purged the logs but i didn't purge the logs in Prod because we need the previous run details of the tasks.

Restarted the load Plan but still it didn't work.
