OBIEE 11g: Users are Unable to Login as the wsm-pm Application is not Active Due to Corrupted MDS Schema Indexes (Doc ID 2097405.1)

Symptoms

Users are unable to login to OBIEE and the following error is thrown:-

Unable to Sign In
An error occurred during authentication. Try again later or contact your system administrator.

In the WebLogic Administration Console (/console) > Deployments, see the "wsm-pm" application is in the "Failed" state.

In the WebLogic Managed Server log (bi_server1.log), the following Errors are observed:-
