com.hyperion.planning.olap.EssbaseException: Database %s does not exist (1051032)

Symptoms

Unable to successfully create a Planning application  and encounter the following errors in the log files


com.hyperion.planning.olap.EssbaseException: Network error [%s]: Connection has been closed (1042016)
com.hyperion.planning.olap.EssbaseException: Database %s does not exist (1051032)

AND

 

com.hyperion.planning.adf.admin.datacontrol.HspPlanningSysAdminDC$CreatPlnApp] [SRC_METHOD: run] Application not created {0}.[[
com.hyperion.planning.HspException: Application is created successfully, but there occurred an error while registering custom-defined functions.
