OBIEE 11g: Clicking the Apply Button on a Dashboard Prompt Does Not Refresh Reports Or Has No Effect (Doc ID 2112656.1)

Symptoms

Upon upgrading to OBIEE 11.1.1.9.x, it is observed that "intermittently", a user selects values in a Dashboard Prompt and clicks the Apply button, but then "nothing happens".  That is, the reports on the Dashboard are not re-executed / refreshed for the selected prompt values. This behavior is encountered when a Dashboard has multiple pages and after a report has returned a "No Results" position. 

For example:  On a Dashboard with 2 Pages with the same Dashboard Prompt and Report

On Page 1:
Select Time = 2010, Products = BizTech in the Dashboard Prompt and click [Apply]
See the Report executes and returns results

Go to Page 2:
Select Time = 2025, Products = BizTech in the Dashboard Prompt and click [Apply]
See the Report re-executes and returns "No Results"

Go back to Page 1:
Select Time = 2010, Products = BizTech in the Dashboard Prompt and click [Apply]
See "nothing happens" ... that is, the Report does not refresh / re-execute with the "new" Prompt values

 

Note: This issue can also occur when the report has Selection Steps.

Example 2:
You have a report with selection steps configured.

You included that report in a dashboard that has some prompts to filter the report.

If the report returns no data, changing the dashboard prompts, and clicking Apply, will not affect the report output.

i.e. Report results are not affected by the dashboard prompts anymore.
