OBIEE 11g: When Exporting More Than 15 Digits To Excel, Precision May Be Lost And Rounded Up (Doc ID 2123418.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 22, 2020

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The OBIEE Release Notes documentation mentions about "15 significant digits" when export to Excel from OBIEE

Oracle® Fusion Middleware User's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
Export Menu Options for Views and Results

Because Excel only supports a maximum of 15 significant digits, numbers exported with more than 15 significant digits may lose precision.

For example:

Create a column in Answers (with a decimal position set to 15) and hard-coded a value of 12345467890123456789.515, Answers will round this up, so that the display on the results tab was 1234567890123460000.000

OBIEE documentation does not mention this information.

Does this information also apply to OBIEE
