OBIEE11g: Error "shortenPaths.cmd NOT Recognized" When Launching Config.cmd (Doc ID 2147909.1)

Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.1.9.0 and later
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

You are trying to configure Oracle Business Intelligence software that was installed with Software Only Install type followed by 5.2 Configuring Oracle Business Intelligence with the Configuration Assistant.

  1. Launch command prompt and go to the directory ORACLE_HOME\bin.
  2. Run config.bat -validate or run simply Config.bat.
  3. The command window shows the following errors:

    "C:\OBI\Oracle_BI1\bin\shortenPaths.cmd"' is an internal or external command,Not recognized as operable program or batch file.Starting Fusion Middleware Configuration Wizard"
    "PATH is set as C:\OBI\Oracle_BI1\bin;..."

  4. After a while, the window will close automatically and the GUI of Oracle Universal Installer launch successfully.
