OBIEE11g: Essbase Server Agent Port Not Updated Even though AGENTPORT Number Updated in Essbase.cfg (Doc ID 2158360.1)

Symptoms

You are explicitly specifying the Essbase Agent port Number according by document 27.5.6 Changing Essbase Ports in Oracle Business Intelligence.

  1. Update port Number(e.g change number from 9799 To 19798) in ORACLE_INSTANCE/Essbase/essbaseserver1/bin/essbase.cfg.
  2. Restart OBIEE including admin server.
  3. And you will found that the new Essbase agent port 19798 is not valid for your instance.
    • Login FUSION Middleware Control --> Business Intelligence --> Coreapplication --> Availability --> Process, the port Number of essbaseserver1 is still 9799.
    • And the AGENTPORT would be restored to older value 9799 in essbase.cfg.
