Last updated on OCTOBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.Purpose

The purpose of this document is to describe the steps needed to configure Hyperion Financial Management as a data source for OBIEE 12c.

Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.2.3.x and 11.1.2.4.x versions use the ADM thin driver.
The ADM thin driver can be installed and configured on either Windows, Linux or Solaris.
HFM communicates with the Java Host process. The Java Host should be running in order to import an HFM application.

The following document will show you how to install the HFM ADM driver, configure the OBIEE / HFM integration, import an HFM application into the RPD, create a Subject Area and access it using Analytics.
Please, check the certification matrix to make sure you are attempting the integration using certified versions

This document assumes EPM HFM is already installed and configured on a separate server rather than the OBIEE server. The topology of this setup and the versions used are as follows:

  • Machine 1: OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0 - Windows Server
  • Machine 2: EPM HFM 11.1.2.4.0 - Windows Server

The HFM ADM Thin Driver will be installed on Machine 1.
