OBIEE 12c Unable To Export Large Number of Rows To Excel (Doc ID 2161550.1)

Symptoms

In 12C while exporting large amount of data, the export to Excel functionality fails.

As per https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1221/biee/BIESG/answersconfigset.htm#BIESG3278

<DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload>65000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload>

The default limit for rows to be downloaded is set to  65000.
This can be increased and has been increased to the desired number, however even after doing this the export to Excel still fails.
