Essbase 11.1.2.3 Cube Crashed and Created an Exception File When Running Scripts with ArcPlan Utility (Doc ID 2165240.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2022

Applies to:

Hyperion Essbase - Version 11.1.2.3.500 to 11.1.2.3.508 [Release 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using Essbase on an Exalytics Patchset 4 bare metal server and running multiple scripts against a cube, Essbase exceptions are occurring.  The problem has been ongoing in current version (11.1.2.3.508) and in previous EPM version (11.1.2.3.500).
Recently upgraded the EPM instance to version 11.1.2.3.508 but the exceptions have continued.

This problem only seems to happen under heavy load and only when using a 3rd party utility called ArcPlan.  If the scripts are run individually via MAXL or EAS, the exceptions do not happen. This ArcPlan utility allows more scripts to be run against the cube at any one time.  When trying to simulate the same load level by running MAXL commands via a shell script, the exceptions do not occur.
