OBIEE 11g / 12c : Assertion Failure When One of the Code is Null For Double Column In Dashboard Prompt or Analysis Prompt (Doc ID 2185870.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.1.1.7.x version and later, Analytics

When attempting to create a Dashboard Prompt (User Input as Check box) on a Double Column (column that has a Code - DESCRIPTOR pair of data)
the following error occurs.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Ensure that you have a double column - Code and Description, and ensure that one Code is Null
2. On OBIEE create a Dashboard prompt (for Dashboard) or Analysis Prompt (within Analysis), on the Description Column, and do select User Input as Check Box.
   Select "Enable User to Filter by Code"
3. Click Ok, and Preview the Prompt by clicking on the Preview icon

Due to this issue, users cannot use Check box input on Column Prompts based on Double Column
