Symptoms

After configuring an external LDAP provider (Novell e-directory) for OBIEE 12c, users in the default authenticator are unable to login to Analytics and the Admin client tool.

The following error occurs when trying to log in:

 

Following steps in this document did not help:

After making the changes as in the document, could not login to analytics anymore.
