OBIEE11g: 'Column Formula' Revert Back to the Original Formula When Bins has been Updated (Doc ID 2194821.1)

Symptoms

'Column Formula' may not be updated when Bins has been updated.  
When you create Bins, case statement will be created on 'Column formula' tab.  When update Bins with existing bin filter, the case statement in Column Formula is initially the same as Bins tab, but then revert back to the original formula.

  1. Create analysis with column "Products"."Product Type" and set Bins as follows:



  2. Go to Tab "Column Formula" and check the case statement in column formula area.



  3. Select column "Products"."Product Type" and add Bin filter for this column.



  4. Edit formula for column "Products"."Product Type" and  "add bin" to add another entry.



  5. Go back to tab "Column Formula" to check that the case statement; Initially "Column Formula" is same as "Bins" setting.



  6. Go to result and then go back Criteria tab. Then Edit formula for column "Products"."Product Type" and check the case statement in column formula area.  The update applies to Bins tab.



    However, the the case statement is reverted back to the original formula.
