Exalytics and OBIEE 11g Report Creating Large SQL Clauses with Sub-Queries and Full Outer Joins when Run on Production Server (Doc ID 2204390.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 27, 2020

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Oracle Exalytics Software - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using OBIEE on two different Exalytics servers, the same query is generating different SQL and slower performance in one environment versus the other. Specifically, the production server is creating huge SQL statements and takes 12 minutes to complete.  The same query generates a simplified SQL statement in the Development environment and takes less than two minutes to run. In both environments, the repository files and settings are the same.

When checking the nqquery.log in the production environment, the physical SQL statement includes multiple SAWITH clauses and sub-queries and uses full outer joins.
