OBIEE 11g and 12c: Value Entered in the Text Field of Dashboard Prompt Disappears Automatically (Doc ID 2227078.1)

Symptoms

After action link navigation between dashboard pages, the value entered in the Text Field of Dashboard Prompt disappears automatically.

Reproducible with Sample Sales Lite as following:

1. Login to OBIEE.

2. Click "New > Dashboard Prompt" and then select "Sample Sales Lite"

3. Create "Column Prompt" with "Sample Sales Lite > Time > Per Name Year" and set it as following:
   Operator: is between
   User Input: Text Field

4. Create "Column Prompt" with "Sample Sales Lite > Products > Product Number" and set it as following:
   Operator: is between
   User Input: Text Field

5. Open Edit Page Settings dialog, deselect the "Prompt Buttons > Show Apply button" option, and then save this prompt.

6. Click "New > Dashboard" and add a new page: "Page 2", then save this dashboard.

7. Add the Action Link in Page 1, open "Action Link Properties", and set it as following:
   Link Text: Go to Page 2
   Action: "Navigate to BI Content" > .../Page 2

8. Save "Page 1".

9. Add the Action Link in Page 2, open "Action Link Properties", and set it as following:
   Link Text: Go to Page 1
   Action: "Navigate to BI Content" > .../Page 1

10. Save "Page 2".

11. Add the dashboard prompt created in above step#5, and then save this dashboard.

12. Run this dashboard from Page 2, input "Per Name Year" as following, and then click action link "Go to Page 1":
    Between 1 - 2

13. After this dashboard page navigation, click "Go to Page 2" in Page 1.

14. In "Page 2", input the value in 1st (From) text field of "Product Number", and then move the focus to 2nd (To) text field.
   After input the value in 2nd text field and move the focus from it, you will notice the value entered in 2nd text field disappears automatically.
