Error When Copying Profiles in Account Reconciliation Manager (ARM): "Exception occurred: 'oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl2'"

You're attempting to copy profiles to a new period in ARM but an error is thrown: "Exception occurred: 'oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl2'". The behavior occurs for any period you create.
The period had initially been created with the wrong settings. The contained profiles were deleted, then the period was deleted and re-created. Subsequent attempts to copy over profiles yield the error.
