OBIEE12c: Import Failed During the Migration From 11g Instance To 12c Newly Installed Instance (Doc ID 2232903.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 12.2.1.2.0 version, Analytics

When trying to migrate the BI environment from 11g instance to 12c instance,

BI_DOMAIN/bitools/bin/migration-tool.sh in config /u01/app/oracle/product/tmp/11export_bundle.jar ssi

Importing the jar file failed with the below errors:

Errors:-

INFO About to copy the following configuration items: <oracle.bi.migration.tool.MigrationTool informUser>

INFO Will copy to domain home: BI_DOMAIN/config/fmwconfig/biconfig/OBIPS/instanceconfig.xml <oracle.bi.migration.tool.MigrationTool informUser>

SEVERE An error occurred during import: Target 'BI_DOMAIN/bi/config/fmwconfig/biconfig/OBIPS/instanceconfig.xml' not inside top level directory '/u01/app/oracle/product/...'

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Target 'BI_DOMAIN/config/fmwconfig/biconfig/OBIPS/instanceconfig.xml' not inside top level directory '/u01/app/oracle/product/...'

Also, in the migration log, can see the errors "not inside top level directory" as shown below.

Errors:-

Filename = migration-<YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS>.log

SEVERE Migration action failed: Target 'BI_DOMAIN\config\fmwconfig\biconfig\actions\ActionFrameworkConfig.xml' not inside top level directory '\BI_DOMAIN'

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Target 'BI_DOMAIN\config\fmwconfig\biconfig\actions\ActionFrameworkConfig.xml' not inside top level directory '\user_projects\domains\bi'

at oracle.bi.migration.configbackup.ConfigBackupManager.markFileForCopy(ConfigBackupManager.java:157)
