OBIEE 12c: Some AD Users Cannot Login To Analytics Due To Authentication Failure. (Doc ID 2237904.1)

Symptoms

On :  12.2.1.2.0 version, Analytics
After deploying repository from DEV  environment to UAT, some (but not all) users are no longer able to login to Analytics.  They get "Unable to sign in" and the following error occurs in the sawlog for some users:

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open OBIEE URL
2. Login as an AD user.
